Target Launches Design-Led Concept Store “Target SoHo” in New York

I

THE WHAT? Target has opened Target SoHo, a design-forward concept store positioned as a testing ground for trend-led retail experiences across fashion, beauty, home and lifestyle.

THE DETAILS Located on Broadway in New York, the store serves as an experimental hub where product curation, rotating installations and interactive features are used to gauge consumer behaviour and trend engagement. Key components include Curated By, a seasonal edit developed with New York tastemakers; The Drop @ Target SoHo, a monthly rotating style showcase; and the Broadway Beauty Bar, a talent-led beauty curation designed to support discovery and social content creation. Additional experiential elements include a gifting-focused installation and a “Selfie Checkout” photo moment.

The concept is part of Target’s broader strategy to elevate design and respond more dynamically to cultural and consumer shifts. The SoHo location will continue to evolve, with new zones, seasonal activations and event programming planned as Target iterates on the model.

THE WHY? With consumer demand increasing for curated retail, discovery-driven merchandising and experiential in-store environments, Target is using the SoHo concept to sharpen its relevance in style-driven categories and gather real-time insight for future store strategies.
