THE WHAT? Amazon has launched a pilot offering 30-minute delivery for essentials—including beauty and personal care items—in select areas of Seattle and Philadelphia.
THE DETAILS The new Amazon Now service provides rapid fulfilment of thousands of items such as cosmetics, OTC products and daily essentials through small, localised facilities positioned close to customers. Prime members receive reduced delivery fees from US$3.99, while non-Prime customers pay US$13.99; a US$1.99 fee applies to orders under US$15. Eligible shoppers can access the “30-Minute Delivery” option directly through the Amazon app and website.
THE WHY? The pilot underscores Amazon’s move to capture more demand in high-frequency categories like beauty and personal care by tightening delivery windows.
