Melt&Marble Raises €7.3M to Scale Precision-Fermented Fats for Beauty

I

THE WHAT? Melt&Marble has secured €7.3 million in Series A funding to scale production of its precision-fermented fats and prepare for commercial launch in personal care.

THE DETAILS The round was led by Industrifonden with participation from the EIC Fund, Beiersdorf, Valio, Catalyze Capital and Chalmers Ventures. Including recent EU grants, the company has raised €10 million over the past year. Melt&Marble’s engineered lipids are positioned as alternatives to palm, coconut and animal fats, aimed at improving texture, functionality and sustainability across beauty, haircare, alt-dairy, meat analogues and bakery.

Funding will support the shift from demo-scale to market-ready production, with first cosmetic ingredients expected in 2026 via a commercial manufacturing partner. Strategic investors Beiersdorf and Valio reflect rising cross-sector interest in precision fermentation as brands seek more stable, higher-performance fat systems. Melt&Marble is advancing co-development projects and preparing for regulatory entry in the EU and US.

THE WHY? Demand for sustainable, high-performance fats is accelerating as brands look to reduce reliance on volatile and environmentally challenged raw materials; precision fermentation is emerging as a scalable solution.
